Draft Central Valley Existing Conditions Report

Under contract with the Central Valley Water Board, Jones and Stokes Associates prepared the draft Central Valley Existing Conditions Report, which is now available for a public comment period. Written comments are due by 5 May 2006. The report may be downloaded from our website at the following address:

This report is a major first step towards describing the existing regulatory setting, surface and groundwater conditions, and management practices within the Central Valley Region, and it will serve as a foundation to develop alternatives for a long-term water quality regulatory program to address discharges from irrigated agriculture.

Appendix A with the water quality data is not posted due to its significant size. You may obtain Appendix A and/or the draft Central Valley ECR by emailing Irrlands@waterboards.ca.gov or calling (916) 464-4611.

Seven public outreach meetings are scheduled between 13 and 22 March. The attached Public Meeting Notice contains details about the public meetings and where to send written comments.
