Event Details
The Sixteenth Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge, Recharge to the Rescue!, Managed Aquifer Recharge as a Water Management Tool, will take place at on March 5-7, 2018 in San Diego, CA. This event continues a long-standing series of symposia originating in Arizona in 1978. The Fifteenth Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge was combined with the Ninth International Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (ISMAR 9) held in Mexico City in 2016. The Groundwater Resources Association of California and the Arizona Hydrological Society have teamed up to hold the BSMAR event with the location alternating between California and Arizona. Please visit the GRA website at www.grac.org for updates.

California State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Rights Outreach: March 6
Many managed aquifer recharge projects in California may require new or amended surface water rights to divert surface water to underground storage. Staff from the California State Water Resources Control Board’s Division of Water Rights will be available during the March 6th evening reception to answer questions about the water rights permitting process, including the Division’s program for temporary permits for groundwater recharge. This is a great opportunity to get to know the staff who will process your future projects, and get tips on application submittal. For more information, visit https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/waterrights/water_issues/programs/applications/groundwater_recharge/.
Optional Workshop: March 7
