Draft National Report on Climate Change and Water Resources Available for Public Review – Comments Accepted thru April 22.

A new draft report “Section 9506 Report for Congress” has been released for public review as required by the SECURE Water Act. The report is described as identifying key actions to improve the Nation’s capacity to detect and predict changes in freshwater resources that are likely to result from a changing climate. In addition, a series of next steps for Federal agencies is provided. The ultimate goal is to help decision-makers and water resource managers by facilitating improvements in observational, data acquisition, and modeling capabilities. Comments are being solicited and the deadline is April 22. The draft report is available on the ACWI web site at http://acwi.gov/Rpt.Congress3.18.11.pdf.
