Opportunity
to Impact The California Department of Health Services (DHS) is in the process of developing a Drinking Water Source Assessment and Protection Program. This program is designed to assess, or identify, contaminant sources that may impact a source of public drinking water (includes ground water and surface water) and to protect that source from contamination. As the program develops, DHS is very interested in hearing feedback from ÒstakeholdersÓ who may be impacted by the program. ÒStakeholdersÓ include private citizens, environmental groups, political groups, educational groups, medical groups, industry, agricultural interests, drinking water utilities, city, towns, and other local governments Ñ and you!. Several workshops were set up in May to gather that feedback. Be part of a proactive approach to ensure that public drinking water sources - such as your own - are protected from future contamination. Learn more about this important program.
