The Sacramento Branch is pleased to present:
"Vertical Flow in Wells"
Larry Ernst, PG CHG CEG,
Groundwater & Water Supply Division, Water Resources Department at Wood Rodgers
Vertical groundwater flow within a well structure can occur under static or pumping conditions. It is important to understand how these types of flows occur, how to tell if they are occurring, and what the water quality implications can be. The assessment and mitigation of “cross flow” will be presented with examples.
Larry Ernst is a Principal at Wood Rodgers, Inc. in Sacramento, California and is a Certified Hydrogeologist with over 35 years of well experience. He has provided regional hydrogeologic assessments and well field designs for cities, water districts, and farmers throughout California.
