ABSTRACT:
Bill Alley, Ph. D., of the National Ground Water Association (NGWA), will present “Lessons for SGMA Plans from around the World.”  Dr. Alley will be using examples and lessons learned from his recently released book, “High and Dry: Meeting the Challenges of the World’s Growing Dependence on Groundwater" and will be doing a book-signing with his wife and co-author, Rosemarie, at the branch meeting.

SPEAKER BIO:

William “Bill” Alley, Ph.D., is science and technology director for the NGWA and co-author with Rosemarie Alley of the book, “High and Dry: Meeting the Challenges of the World’s Growing Dependence on Groundwater.” Previous to his NGWA position, he served as chief of the Office of Groundwater at the U.S. Geological Survey for almost two decades. Dr. Alley has published over 100 scientific publications and received a number of awards, including the Meritorious Presidential Rank Award. He is a Fellow of the Geological Society of America.

Copies of “High and Dry: Meeting the Challenges of the World’s Growing Dependence on Groundwater” will be available for purchase and signing at a cost of $25.

Please pay online by credit card or at the meeting by cash or check payable to: GROUNDWATER RESOURCES ASSOCIATION (GRA). If you pay online by credit card, please check in at the venue with Trey Driscoll so that we can get an accurate count.

RSVP Required: Please submit electronic reservation by 12 PM (Noon) Friday, June 16, 2017.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
GRA will accept cancellations with no charge until 12:00 PM (Noon) on Friday, June 16, 2017. At that time, we must submit a final head count to Ballast Point and we will be charged accordingly. If you cancel after that time, or are a no-show, we will ask you to pay the cost of your meal(s). Thank you for your cooperation.
