Herman Bouwer Award Nomination Form

The Herman Bouwer Award is given out at both the Biennial Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (BSMAR) and the International Symposium on Managed Aquifer Recharge (ISMAR) to the person or agency that has significantly advanced the understanding or utilization of MAR.

The award has been given to the following:

  • Robert Rice, 2014
  • Mario Lluria, 2016
  • David Pyne, 2018

The eleventh ISMAR (ISMAR 11) is being held in Long Beach, California in April 2022. Nominations must be submitted by August 31, 2021, for consideration for ISMAR 11.

Nominations received after this date are ineligible for ISMAR 11 but may be retained for consideration for future BSMAR or ISMAR symposia. Sitting Directors and Branch Officers of the Groundwater Resources Association of California (GRA) and the Arizona Hydrological Society (AHS) are ineligible to be nominated for the award.

Please provide a detailed explanation of why the nominee should be considered for the award. Supporting documents, such as; resume, newspaper clippings or articles, letters of support, published articles, and project reviews are welcome.

The recipient of the 2022 Herman Bouwer Award will be selected by the ISMAR 11 planning committee and will be presented at ISMAR 11 in Long Beach, CA.
