BRANCH HIGHLIGHTS:
2021-22 GRAC SACRAMENTO BRANCH UPDATE
While there is no doubt that 2020 was the most challenging year in modern history due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2021 proved to be yet another challenging year for most of us. Settling comfortably into the reality, and sometimes frustration, of the virtual
meeting world and the hybrid work environment has taken some getting used to, but the Sacramento Branch had a productive year in 2021 and we are planning an exciting and educational year in 2022. Although 2022 should be less trying than 2020-21, we
are hopeful that we can get back to a “somewhat normal” routine later this year!
Fingers Crossed!
So, what’s new in 2022: We are happy to report that all our 2021 officers were re-elected for another one-year term, so our proven track record of monthly meetings/field trips (both virtual and sometimes in-person) will continue in 2022.
Pre-COVID, we would typically hold meetings about once a month at the Aviator’s Restaurant (Sacramento Executive Airport) plus an annual meeting at the CSUS Alumni Center in late winter/spring. In 2021, we held 7 monthly meetings (virtually) and conducted
a successful in-person field trip in September to the Mehrten Ranch (Grand Oaks Inn) and Camanche Dam in Clements, CA. We are pleased to report that the Branch remains fiscally strong, which allows us to help offset any costs associated with securing
high-quality speakers and supporting deserving students with conference and meeting registrations. As of fall 2021, our Branch includes several hundred registered members.
On behalf of the Sacramento Branch Officers, we wish all our GRAC members, supporters, and families a much-improved 2022!
