Bio:

John has over 20 years of experience at two Bay Area Water Districts. He started his career at CH2M Hill in 1990, conducting hydrogeologic investigations. In 1993 he was hired by the Alameda County Water District where he served as a regulator of hazardous release sites and managed monitoring well installation and groundwater sampling programs.

In 2003 he joined the Santa Clara Valley Water District and continued to regulate hazardous release sites and worked on various water resources and water quality projects. He started conducing asset management in 2016. He is currently responsible for long term planning software and database, pipeline asset management program, and raw water master plan.

John holds a B.S. degree in Geology from Sonoma State University and a M.S. degree in Geology from the San Diego State University. He obtained a professional geology license in 1995 and a certification in hydrogeology in 1998. He obtained a professional certificate in asset management from The Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia in 2016. John serves on the board of the Groundwater Resources Association of California, and is the editor of the quarterly newsletter, HydroVisions.

John and his wife, Laura live in Oakland with their 17 year old daughter. They also have a 20 year old son in college. He walked the Avon Walk Against Breast Cancer with his wife seven times. In his free time, he likes to cook, especially Thai food.
